Chocolate and Sugar...

isn't that what life is really all about? apparently to a lonely mom on mother's day and a 2 year old, it is!

this morning robby and i decided that we'd go to the best donut shop in the land and get donuts and chocolate milk (not so much for mom, but you know...) before heading out to spend the beautiful morning at the farm. trying to get robby excited, i told him that we were going to get donuts with lots of chocolate and sugar! of course, he was totally on board. so when we arrived at Jerry's and saw a "closed for Mother's Day" sign on the door, both of us were disappointed. well, only one of us was because only one of us can read. but when i said, "oh, man!" robby replied with, "what's wrong mommy?" and i told him the donut shop was closed and we weren't going to be able to get donuts. his response? "i want chocolate and sugar!" under a stifled laugh, i said, "i know, honey. mommy's sad. but we'll think of something." and i hear from the back seat, "robby sad, too."

thankfully the grocery store on the way to the farm has a decent bakery. we arrived at the farm on a sugar high and covered in chocolate. ready for the goats to attack!

speaking of the farm, we went for opening day last week and there are pics that will be put up from that trip shortly.
