rob and i decided that in an effort to get in shape, enjoy south dakota, and increase family time, we'd buy bikes. i've been so excited for the last week i couldn't stand it. what a great workout!
after a ridiculous hunt leading us to (ick) kmart for the baby seat, rob was installing the seat and checking the air in the tires of the new bikes when "POP!" yah. he blew up the tire.
so he bought a replacement tube, we put robby on the back with his super fly sesame street helmet, and headed through the neighborhood for a leisurely stroll.
had it not been for the 20 knot winds, the hills in the neighborhood, oh and the fact that neither one of us has been on a bike for over15 years, it would've been a great idea! we rode for about 15 mins and decided to bring it back in for a not-so-windy day. but robby took serious exception to this idea. once parked in the garage and helmet off, he pouted the biggest pout and cried the saddest cry until mom and dad were ashamed they were so out of shape and took him for another ride.
two actual conversations that took place between us:
t: do you have your wallet?
r: no, why?
t: i was thinking we should ride over to that convenience store on elm and get some Reese's eggs.
r: what, are you nuts?!
(it would have been like 2 miles, round trip)
t (after the bike ride): maybe we should go to blockbuster and get a movie for tonight.
r: if you say anything about bikes, i'll kill you.

Too funny. We got each other bikes for Christmas. Of course, being pregnant I haven't yet been on mine. We can't wait to get serious about it once the baby is old enough to be in one of those carts that go behind the bike.
